Author MOHS Surgery is now the standard of care for treatment of many types of advanced skin cancers. The skin cancer is traced out microscopically, layer by layer, under local anesthesia, until clear margins are obtained. Once the cancer is clear, the area can be repaired with sutures or with a skin graft.
