SUNSCREENS-WHAT IS SPF?
A Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of 30 means that it takes 30 times as long to sunburn with a sunscreen as it would to sunburn with no sunscreen at all. For instance, if you normally would start to burn within 30 minutes without sunscreen, it would take 15 hours to burn with the SPF 30 sunscreen on (30 x .5). Since it is rare to be in the sun for 15 hours, a SAPF 30 sunscreen would be more than adequate.
