When should I have my mole removed?

Author We look at 3 things. 1) appearance- black/blue/uneven color; 2) History = damage, bleeding, scabbing, crusting, irregular border, dark spots, recent growth, and 3) your 6th sense. Dysplastic nevi = mole with an abnormal appearance. Photos & dermoscopy aside, the only way to know whether a mole is a melanoma or not is to remove it and biopsy it!
